TO APPLE OR NOT TO APPLE?

The ever ongoing war between Apple users and non Apple users, has been confronted by almost any person wanting to by a new laptop. Should I buy an Apple laptop? Or should a buy a regular Microsoft laptop from whichever brand I please?

From Apple we learn that there is no replacement for smooth, secure and professional looks and software. But from other laptop brands we learn that the sky is the limit, and what you have is what you made it.

Now which to choose in what situation? The obvious answer is that for work and professional usage Apple would be better, for gamers, a Windows machine would be better, and of coarse for the programmers, the ever faithful Linux Ubuntu.

But is this really the case? For not a cheap price tag (~$1000) you can buy an 13 inch MacBook Air laptop, with entry level specs. 1.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 6000, 128 GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. For roughly the same price, you can afford a laptop with 15.6 inch 1080p display, 3.60GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 12GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX960M 4GB and a 1TB hard drive. Now this leaves me thinking...But why? The external brand machine is so much more powerful and costs the same as the MacBook Air?

This is how I see it best fit for use between the machines. If you are going to go the Apple way, buy everything Apple and you WILL be pleased with the performance received. Apple's way of sharing data between products is absolutely unbelievable, and makes it real easy to decentralize your office.

If you are going on a budget and want to get the most bang for your buck, for all round use like, gaming, movie nights, LAN Parties or programming, it will be better not buying an Apple product, simply for the vast amount of software, games and IDE's available for the Windows and Ubuntu platforms.
